Honey Bunny Cake

Now, I know I say this all the time, but I’m going to blow your mind with how easy this bunny cake is to make!! I love making cakes, and I’m always looking for ways to show how to master cake decorating; well, this is something even the most novice baker can do. Get ready to wow your family at easter dinner with this little cutie!

What you need:

2 9in cakes (you can bake your favorite cake from starch or use a box mix, no judgies)

3 cups Butter cream (once again, you can make your own or use a can)

1 jar of your favorite jam

1 bag sweetened flaked coconut

Pipping bag or ziplock for frosting

2 large wooden skewers

4 toothpicks

Round biscuits cutter (or a drinking glass will work)

Once your cakes are baked and cooled, remove them from the pan.

Cut one cake in half down the middle.

Place frosting in the pipping bag and pipe the outline of each half of the cake.

Spoon the jam in the middle of the frosting outline.

Slowly close both halves onto each other to make the shape of the bunny's body.

Place the cake on the serving platter.

Use the biscuit cutter to cut a circle to use as the bunny face and place it on the front of the second cake.

Cut out the second bunny ear shape from the other cake. I cut the ears in half to make them less thick.

Use the skewers to put the ears into place on the cake.

Cut out a smaller circle to use as the bunny tail.

Place the tail on the cake with the toothpicks.

Coat the entire cake with buttercream. There is no need to make it pretty; just make sure it is fully coated.

Now is the fun part…. Take the coconut and stick it to the frosting to give the bunny a furry, fluffy coat.

If you have parts that the coconut is not sticking to, use the pipping bag to add a little more frosting.

Now place that cutie on the table and get ready to wow the whole fam-dam.

Cheers Babes

Happy Easter
